Summer fun

Postby Flea » Fri Mar 13, 2009 12:27 am

Hey folks, its been a while since I've ventured into this area of the forum but here I am once again.

I've not been keeping track on any projects going on on this side of the gaming club so If what I say is already something under way then please lemme know.

I'm thinking about doing a sort of cross over thing. I'm sure GW do something along this line already (Necromunda or something?) but I'm looking at doing a gang turf war over a city but where I think GW's game is set in Sci-Fi I'd like mine set in fantasy, maybe even one of the cities in the NGC RP world. Looking at goups of maybe 10-15/20 depending on the strength of the memebers of the gang. Obviously this will need balancing and this is where I need your help. My wargaming experience is limited to about an hour and a half total. I'm not sure on how the mechanics work so any help would be appreciated. Rules for attacking and such I imagine are quite easy to get, its the injuries and such that may be a problem.

Thanks for reading. Hope you can help and are interested lol

GW's Mordheim is probably a good place to start?

yeah this is what you're looking for man

unfortunately the rulebook isn't available for download anymore but maybe someone in your group has it, Tetsu? maybe, worst case scenario I think I might have it somewhere although no guarantess. It's a great system, actually you know piers may have it wasn't it one of the ones he played?
I know I've already written to you asking for world peace and for a donor to be found soon for my cousin, but please please please forget all that useless stuff and get me this super awesome 3-D dungeon which appears to be made of solidified Jesus blood.

the reason it won't show up in google is not enough people know about it yet they just assume it's gone because specialist games is gone. If the page had more hits it would show up higher on the results page on google.

Thanks guys, this looks awesome. Looking around the intarwebs it looks like GW are not really supporting this one which is a shame as I think it would serve as a fairly decent bridge between RPers and wargamers and thats what I'm looking for. Seems there is a fairly big fanbase outthere that are giving it the love and attention it needs to balance the rules now. I'll see what I can find, thanks for pointing me in the right direction :D

missed this post the first time ... but has always interested me , the RPG wargame .

Mordheim is a good place to start for sure . as mentioned the rules are free , as are importntly the backgrounds to most of all the races from the WH world , which you can use vanilla or hack into your own races .

If you re still into this idea , I d be happy to throw in me tuppence.

Still interested. Definately. I think most people will have models lying around to make their own gang and probably enough that people who don't have any models can be supplied for a game or two

well , models are certainly not the problem ...
I like the idea of a customised game though, where the mechanics of the game are from the rules but the models can be from any sort or source , within the GMs/ players reason. i.e there should be scope to use say , warmachine stuff or Reaper minis ...

In fact , check out the www.reapermini.com game called warlord.
Its got great range of models , lots of races and is quite RPG led .. and , I have a copy of the rules to lend!
